Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to buy the Ultra I&C Mission Solutions business from Cobham Ultra Group for $720 million in cash. Cobham Ultra Group is a portfolio company of Advent International. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
The acquisition is part of Booz Allen's broader strategy to expand its capabilities in mission-critical technology and defense services. Ultra I&C Mission Solutions specializes in advanced electronic warfare, communications, and sensor systems for military and intelligence clients. By bringing these assets in-house, Booz Allen aims to strengthen its position in the growing market for integrated defense solutions.
Booz Allen has been pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy to drive growth. The company is also considered one of the top industrial stocks with more than 50% upside potential, according to recent analyst rankings. The Ultra I&C deal is expected to add roughly $300 million in annual revenue and be accretive to earnings within the first year after closing.
The transaction underscores the continued consolidation in the defense and technology sectors, as companies look to combine specialized technical capabilities with larger platforms. Booz Allen will fund the purchase using cash on hand and existing credit facilities.
