Chicago police are alerting residents and business owners about a series of robberies targeting commercial establishments across the South Side. The incidents occurred between June 23 and July 18, spanning seven different neighborhoods in the area.
According to police reports, the suspects have been hitting a variety of businesses, including convenience stores, restaurants, and small shops. In each case, the offenders reportedly enter the business, demand cash from the register, and often take personal items from employees or customers before fleeing. No specific descriptions of the suspects have been released, but authorities believe the same group may be responsible for multiple incidents.
The affected neighborhoods include parts of Englewood, Auburn Gresham, and Chatham, among others. Police are urging business owners to remain vigilant, keep surveillance cameras operational, and avoid confronting suspects directly. They also recommend that employees call 911 immediately if they see suspicious activity.
So far, no injuries have been reported in connection with the robberies. The Chicago Police Department has increased patrols in the affected areas and is asking anyone with information to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify and apprehend those responsible.
