The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography has a new leader, and he is bringing a clear message about the value of collaboration. Ronen Rubinshtein, MD, a seasoned cardiologist, has taken over as president of the organization, emphasizing that the future of cardiac care depends on how well specialists work together.
Rubinshtein, who has spent years focused on both interventional cardiology and cardiac imaging, says these two fields are among his greatest professional passions. In his new role, he plans to push for stronger communication between imaging experts and the doctors who perform procedures. He believes that when a cardiologist truly listens to a patient and coordinates closely with a team of technicians and surgeons, the outcomes improve dramatically.
The new president also wants to address the rapid changes in technology. With CT scans and other imaging tools becoming more advanced, he argues that the human element cannot be lost. "It is not just about the machine," Rubinshtein said. "It is about the person reading the images and the person sitting in front of the patient."
His leadership comes at a time when the field is trying to balance innovation with practical, patient-centered care. By highlighting teamwork and the importance of hearing what patients have to say, Rubinshtein hopes to guide the society toward a more integrated approach to heart health.
